Lakota Local SchoolCurrently under construction is a new PK-12 school building for the Lakota School district located on the same site of the current high school outside Kansas, Ohio. The brick and cast stone faced facility is approximately 180,000 sf. Beyond offering classrooms and much needed special education spaces the building will host two gymnasiums (seating 500 and 1500 persons), weight training and wrestling facilities, an agricultural educational lab and a large centrally located media center featuring a canopied story area for children. The school also hosts a tiered Auditeria complete with a full performance stage for musical and theatrical performances. Site utilities upgrades included new water wells, a water treatment facility and an on site sewage treatment plant and the site will also feature new playgrounds, baseball and softball diamonds. The project is scheduled to be completed for occupancy in the Fall of 2011.
Cridersville Elementary School Current ProjectsCurrently under construction is a new PK-4 school building for the Wapakoneta School district located in Cridersville, Ohio. The brick faced facility is approximately 58,000 sf. This project is pursuing LEED Silver Certification. Some of the sustainable initiatives include: water efficient landscaping, reducing water usage by 20%, optimizing energy performance by approximately 28%, using building materials with recycled content and located within 500 miles, diverting 75% construction waste from disposal, using building material with low-emitting volatile organic compounds for cleaner air, and day lighting classrooms. The school district will be integrating the sustainable features of the school facility with the school's curriculum. The project estimate completion date is fall of 2010.
Wapakoneta High SchoolCurrently under construction, the Wapakoneta High School, located at 1 W. Redskin Drive, Wapakoneta, Ohio includes an office addition at the main entrance and a 710 seat theatrical performance center. The building is also receiving upgrades to the mechanical, electrical, and technology systems. The existing facility was 185,000 s.f. Following the additions, the facility will be 219,000 s.f. This project is pursuing LEED Silver Certification. Some of the sustainable initiatives include: water efficient landscaping, reducing water usage by 20%, capturing rain water to flush toilets and irrigate adjacent practice fields, using building materials with recycled content and located within 500 miles, diverting 75% construction waste from disposal, and using building materials with low-emitting volatile organic compounds for cleaner air. The school district will be integrating the sustainable features of the school facility with the school's curriculum. The project estimate completion date is Fall of 2010.
