MECHANICAL ENGINEER/DESIGNER

Garmann/Miller Architects-Engineers of Minster, Ohio, has an immediate opening for a full-time mechanical engineer/designer. Candidates will be responsible for assisting in the design of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing systems.

Requirements  The ideal candidate will have:

- Minimum Associate's degree, Bachelor degree preferred

- AutoCAD, Revit MEP and Energy Modeling knowledge

- Strong communication and organizational skills, detail oriented

- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment while handling multiple projects

REGISTERED ARCHITECT/SPECIFICATIONS WRITER

Garmann/Miller is seeking a Registered Architect/Specifications Writer with a minimum 12-15 years of experience in education, commercial, healthcare and industrial architecture. Candidates will be responsible for writing the specifications and coordinating them with the drawings. Other responsibilities will include working with the design team to ensure all disciplines specifications are coordinated. Required skills include experience with construction contracts, specifications writing, innovative problem solving, good communication and potential management skills.

Requirements:  The ideal candidate will have:

- Minimum 12-15 years of experience in education, commercial, healthcare and industrial architecture

- Professional degree in Architecture, Bachelors or above

- Architectural Registration preferred, but not required

- Well-rounded experience in all phases of design, construction documentation, codes, specifications, and construction administration

- Proficient understanding and expertise in SpecLink and/or E-Spec software

- Excellent drawing skills and knowledge of construction techniques/ detailing

- Understanding of construction contracts and general conditions of construction projects

- Experience with building and zoning codes

- Understanding and ability to coordinate the work of engineering disciplines

- Proactive working relationships with clients and consultants

- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and listening skills

- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to deliver polished marketing and client presentations

Job Description:  The candidate must be registered in the State of Ohio. Qualifications for this position include the ability to lead a project team, make independent decisions, manage project phases from start to finish, work in a team environment and possess good communication skills. Must be client oriented and have a desire to grow professionally and personally. Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup and other graphic programs.
