Ronald C. Smallwood, Registered Architect, has joined Garmann/Miller & Associates. Ron has over 30 years experience in many large scale industrial, food grade and commercial projects.
Ron received his Ohio Architectural registration in 1995 and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), as well as the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
Ron is a Waterville, Ohio, native. He joins a staff of 33 employees which includes registered architects, landscape architects, designers, professional engineers, construction administrators and administrative personnel serving public and private clients throughout western Ohio. |

Project Update: Wapakoneta Elementary
Wapakoneta Elementary School broke ground in January 2009. The school is scheduled to be complete in time for the start of school this fall. Some features of the 113,000 square foot facility include two full-size computer labs, a large media center, 42 classrooms, a 3,200 square foot cafetorium, terrazzo flooring and an educational courtyard. This project is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council for LEED Silver certification.
Charles Construction is the General Contractor and Gilbane Building Company is the Construction Manager for this project.

Lockkeepers House Grand Opening
The Lockkeepers House will hold a grand opening ceremony on June 19 at 10 a.m. at the site along the Miami and Erie Canal in New Bremen.
The event will have speakers, music, recognition of the donors who helped with funding and a chance for those who purchased keys to officially see if their key unlocks the door. The winning key holder will receive $1,000, a lifetime membership in New Bremen Historic Association and five historical prints done by a local artist.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame! The Garmann/Miller staff recently enjoyed a company outing to Columbus for an annual insurance seminar and a Columbus Clippers game. Garmann/Miller welcomes Andrea Borkowski of New Bremen to the office this summer. She is interning in the landscape architecture department. She started in May after finishing her study abroad program in Australia. In the fall, she will finish her degree in Landscape Architecture at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
