Garmann/Miller Congratulate Staff Members on LEED Accreditation |

Garmann/Miller Architects-Engineers would like to Congratulate three of their staff members on successful completion of the LEED exam for New Construction. Kasey Corbet earned her accreditation in Sept. 2007, Cindy Driskell earned her accreditation in Dec. 2007, and Mandy Niekamp earned her accreditation in Feb. 2008. LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building techniques, the LEED Green Building Rating System, and the certification process. The LEED AP program is administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), which was established with the support of USGBC to allow for objective, balanced management of the credentialing program.

something to smile about. On March 4th they passed a 6.46 mill bond issue for a new high school and a 1 mill levy for permanent improvements. This was the districts third try for the bond issue. The board cut the project and the costs after each previous failure. The stadium project was initially cut, followed by the middle school addition after a failure at the polls last November. This bond is 16 percent less than the first request. The current 92-year old high school will be completely replaced with new construction on 58 acres of land east of the elementary school.
