Heart Institute recognized at national level
The Heart Institute of Northwest Ohio, in Lima, continues to gain recognition, this time at the national level. The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) recognized the nation's top construction projects of 2009 during its
Excellence in Construction and National Safety Excellence awards ceremony in San Diego, California, on February 4.

The Heart Institute project was the 2009 Award of Excellence winner under the General Contractor/Construction Management category of Healthcare for projects less than $10 million. Representatives from H.A. Dorsten, Inc., of Minster, general contractor for the project, went to California to accept this award. This project won an award in November at the Ohio ABC competition therefore it was eligible for the national competition.
In a press release ABC president and CEO, Kirk Pickeral said, "ABC is pleased to present these industry-leading construction projects with our Excellence in Construction awards." This year's winners were exceptional examples of the outstanding craftsmanship and professionalism that embody merit shop construction. ABC members continue to be the driving force behind some of the nation's highest-profile projects."
