Garmann/Miller Celebrates
15 Years in Business

Garmann/Miller Architects-Engineers recently celebrated their 15th Anniversary as a firm.  Architects, Brad Garmann and Bruce Miller first opened the firm for business on January 4, 1993 in the Ripploh building on the corner of Fourth & Lincoln Streets in Minster.  They moved to their current location at 38 South Lincoln Drive in mid -October 1997 with eight staff members.  Architect Steve Heitkamp joined the firm in 1998 and became the third principal.  The firm grew to 15 employees by their 10th Anniversary in 2003 and added an Engineering Department.  In that year, the firm expanded their building to accommodate the additional growth in staff and services.  Today the firm has grown to employ 24 staff members including registered architects, a landscape architect, professional engineers, designers, and technical personnel.

System Evolution Chilled Beams & Multi-Service Units
 Chilled Beam
Chilled Beams combine radiant cooling systems with conventional overhead ventilation to reduce energy usage, improve comfort levels, and reduce the architectural impact of ductwork and other mechanical systems.  These systems have been seen throughout Europe for the past 15-20 years but are new to the United States.  "Chilled Beams" have been used with success on several pharmaceutical projects in the USA.  The link below details the many features of Chilled Beams and Multi-Service Units.
